Add a favicon (Favorite Icon) to your website.

A Favicon is the small icon image that you see before your address bar in your browser. You may also view it if you use bookmarks and tap browsing. Its real easy to add to any web page of blog.

How to make a favicon

You may simply create a favicon by cropping and resizing a original logo or image in Photoshop. The preferred icon size is 16 x 16 pixels and it’s a standard size used by many. Once you have made an image in photoshop save it as “.ico”. This is the required formate in order for your icon to show up correctly.

If you do not have Photoshop Genfavicon is a free online icon generator that will let you upload an image. It will give you a preview of your image where you can resize and crop.

How to add a favicon to your web-page

After you create a favicon you will need to add it to your website or blog. All you have to do is add the following simple HTML line inside your head tags.

<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”http://www.example.com/myicon.ico” />

</head>

Make sure to add < before the line and > after the line. “example” is the path to the newly created ico file ( eg:- http://rumblinglankan.com/favicon.ico ) Then check your website and enjoy your newly added favicon.
